Woman Injured After Jumping From Car

STANTON - A Norfolk woman suffered a head injury after she jumped from a moving Stanton County Sheriff's unit. Sheriff Mike Unger says the incident occurred Sunday evening after Ashley Titus, 19, was arrested with two other individuals following the break-in of an abandoned farm house six miles north of Stanton. Stephen Schrader, 19, of Norfolk and Sundae McKown, 18, of Belgrade were taken into custody -- while Titus fled the scene on foot. She was found in a ditch about 90 minutes later. As she was being taken into Stanton, the handcuffed Titus managed to unlock the rear door of the patrol unit and jumped. She was taken to Faith Regional Health Services for her injures. Unger says Titus was out on bond for felony theft charges in Madison County.
