Wind Farm Proposed For Northeast Nebraska
LINCOLN (AP) - A company has proposed building a 200-megawatt wind farm right after a new Nebraska law encouraging wind power development took effect. Invenergy submitted a proposal to the Nebraska Power Review Board on Thursday to spend $448 million installing 133 wind turbines on about 45,000 acres of Antelope and Boone counties in northeast Nebraska. State Sen. Chris Langemeier of Schuyler says the application from Chicago-based Invenergy suggests the law will have a positive impact. The law takes effect today.
