Weather Front Could Dictate More Rain
VALLEY (AP) - A front carrying plenty of moisture is forecast for Nebraska, and where it decides to park the next several days could determine whether there's another wave of flooding. Van DeWald with the National Weather Service said Thursday that weather models are split on whether the front will stall in northeast or southeast Nebraska from Friday through possibly Tuesday. Hydrologists say the Elkhorn River in northeast Nebraska poses the greatest risk of flooding. The bulging Elkhorn already has damaged areas in and near Ewing, Clearwater, Neligh and Norfolk as it rushed southeast into the Platte River near Omaha in recent days. DeWald says the front is capable of producing large amounts of rainfall.
