Water Emergency In Stanton

STANTON - The mayor of Stanton has declared a water emergency after a water line break under the Elkhorn River. Stanton County Emergency Manager Sandford Goshorn says due to the break, all residents of Stanton must boil their water before it can be consumed or used. He says due to the nature of the high flows on the Elkhorn River, this water emergency in Stanton will be in effect for an undetermined amount of time. Goshorn says the Elkhorn River near Stanton is generally staying within its banks with some minor flooding occurring.
