Victory Road Reopens -- For Now

NORFOLK - A road in north Norfolk that's been closed for reconstruction is now back open. Madison County Road Superintendent Dick Johnson says Victory Road north of Benjamin Avenue reopened Thursday morning. But he tells 106 KIX NEWS the work is not yet complete. He says they delayed finishing another 1,000 feet of three lanes to Norfolk Iron and Metal and the Louis Dreyfus ethanol plant until Nebraska Central Railroad gets back in operation after its bridge south of Norfolk is repaired. Motorists may drive on Victory Road through to Nucor Road, but they can only turn west there. Nucor Road to the east from there is closed. Limited local traffic only is allowed, and all Nucor employees, trucks and those having business with Nucor are required to enter the Mill from the east off Highway 35, until the railroad bridge reopens.
