Two Arrested Near Maskentine on Drug Charges
STANTON - Two people were arrested near Maskentine Lake in Stanton County this morning on drug charges. Sheriff Mike Unger says Richard Murray, 36, of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Cassidy McLaughlin, 19, of Seward were arrested after they were confronted near an abandoned vehicle northwest of Stanton. Unger says Murray and McLaughlin were found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Murray initially resisted arrest and received minor injuries during his apprehension. Unger says McLaughlin has been released, but Murray remains in the Madison County Jail pending posting of a cash bond.
