Trucks Pulled From Norfolk, Columbus Streets
NORFOLK - Five thousand dollars in fines and 26 trucks were taken out of service Wednesday in Norfolk during a surprise inspection conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol. Spokesman Deb Collins says officers conducted 48 inspections, discovered 204 violations, and took 26 vehicles out of service. Vehicles are placed out of service for a variety of reasons relating to bad brakes or tires, or other problems that pose immediate safety risks. In addition, one driver was not allowed to continue driving because he had no CDL. Collins says during a similar inspection Thursday in Columbus, officers conducted 59 inspections, discovered 220 violations, and took 26 vehicles out of service and issued $2,300 in fines.
