Storms Knock Out Power In Omaha
OMAHA (AP) - Utility crews are out in Omaha and surrounding areas to restore power to about 1,100 households and businesses still without electricity following strong storms. The Omaha Public Power District reports crews have been working more than 14 hours to restore power to about 22,000 customers who initially lost power Tuesday evening as storms brought high winds, hail, lightning and heavy rain to eastern Nebraska. An OPPD spokesman says the storms damaged several power lines and other electrical equipment. The utility hopes to have power restored to every customer by late Wednesday.
