Stenberg Picks Up Another GOP Nomination
LINCOLN (AP) - Former Nebraska Attorney General Don Stenberg has beat two fellow Republicans in the primary election for state treasurer, an office that could be abolished in 2015. Stenberg beat state Sen. Tony Fulton of Lincoln and former State Patrol head Tom Nesbitt in the Tuesday primary. He will face Democrat Mark Stoj in November. Whoever wins may have to plan how duties of the office can be handled by other areas state government. The November ballot includes a measure to eliminate the 155-year-old office in 2015.
