State's Unemployment Remains Low
LINCOLN - Nebraska continues to have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation at 4.8% in June. State Commissioner of Labor, Catherine Lang, says the numbers are seasonally adjusted to take into account the higher numbers of individuals seeking employment in the summer. Lang says the biggest news in June's report is an increase in jobs compared with the year before, the first time this has happened since November of 2008. Lang says July's report may show a bigger drop as those who became employed over the summer will show up on the report.
