Norfolk High, Norfolk Catholic, & Lutheran High Northeast participate in Boys Golf District Meets

The Norfolk High boys golf team participated in Monday’s A-3 District Meet at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln.  They finished in fourth place with a 318 team score.  Millard North was the champion with a 304, Bellevue East was second with a 309, and Lincoln Southwest took third with a 310.  Lincoln Southwest’s Bryce Brown was the individual champion with a 70 while Norfolk High’s Eric Bruening & Colby Blackman tied for tenth with a 78.  Both Panthers qualified for next week’s State Meet at Pioneers Golf Course in Lincoln.

The Lutheran High Northeast & Norfolk Catholic boys golf teams have reached the State Meet next week.  Hartington Cedar Catholic won the C-3 District Meet at Norfolk’s Fairplay Golf Course with a 313 while the Eagles were second with a 322, and the Knights were third with a 335.  Ponca’s Alex O’Neill was the individual champion with a 74, Hartington Cedar Catholic’s Brett Klug was second with a 75, Lutheran High Northeast's Colby Svoboda took third with a 76, teammate Broderick Baker was fifth with a 77, Norfolk Catholic’s Riley Knake was sixth with a 79, and teammate Ben Rowse was tenth with an 81.  Also qualifying for the State Meet at Kearney’s Country Club were Lutheran High Northeast’s Payton Baker (84), Derek Duerst (85), & Garret Pasold (114).  Norfolk Catholic’s Thad Baum (83), Tanner Bessmer (92), & Garrett Clausen (103) will also represent their school.
