Columbus football team turns back to Norfolk 26-14
Columbus' Dillon Loschen ran for 128 yards on 35 carries and a touchdown as the Discoverers beat the Norfolk Panthers on Thursday night at Norfolk's Memorial Field 26-14. Columbus' quarterback Jake Ek also contributed by competing all six of his passes for 54 yards and a touchdown to Andrew Timm of 36 yards in the second quarter. Timm also had a 57 yard interception return for a score in the first quarter. Norfolk quarterback Garrett Johnson was 15-29 through the air for 220 yards and a T.D. but was picked off three times with one resulting in Timm's touchdown. Johnson also had a two yard touchdown run. Elliot Koerting had seven receptions for 98 yards and a T.D. Columbus also scored on a Gustavo Olvera 37 yard field goal and a safety by middle linebacker Alex Bartholomew. The Discoverers led 17-14 at halftime. Columbus improves to 3-1 and the Panthers fall to 2-2.
