Soybean Processing Plant Purchased
SOUTH SIOUX CITY (AP) - An Israeli company is buying the former Green Planet Farms soybean processing plant in South Sioux City and expects to hire 40 workers by October. Solbar will contract for locally grown soybeans that will be crushed into flour, then processed and used in nutrition bars, sports drinks and vegetarian foods. The facility was to be built in Norfolk until natural gas supply issues locally came into the picture.
