Second Norfolk House Fire
NORFOLK - Norfolk fire investigators continue to look into the cause of a house fire that broke out during the 10:00 hour this morning. Fire Division Shift Commander Steve Bettendorf says the Gary Witman home at 203 South 17th Street suffered extensive fire, heat and smoke damage. Although they were able to get the fire under control within 20-to-30 minutes, firefighters remained on scene overhauling the structure since the fire spread from the basement to the attic. Bettendorf says no one was home at the time, but the family did lose a pet.
