Rip Rap Headed To Norfolk
NORFOLK - Norfolk officials have received some news on getting material to help stabilize the banks near the railroad bridge that collapsed last week. Senator Mike Flood says Union Pacific Railroad officials have advised Nebraska Central Railroad they have train cars full of rip rap headed to the Norfolk area. He's not sure on the amount of the initial shipment, but Flood indicated it may take 50-to-100 rail cars full of rip rap to stabilize the banks lost to erosion. The first shipment is expected to arrive in the next 48-to-72 hours.
