Rail Bridge Not Only Concern In SW Norfolk
NORFOLK - Rail service to Norfolk faces another threat from the raging Elkhorn River. Last week, debris in the high water knocked out a railroad bridge southwest of the city. Now erosion along the bank just south of that collapsed bridge is threatening the tracks. City officials are seeking permission from the Army Corps of Engineers to place rip rap to stabilize the bank.
