NPS Board Approves New Math Curriculum
NORFOLK - The Norfolk Board of Education has approved the purchase of a new Math curriculum for K-6 students -- but not before a lengthy discussion. NPS Director of Teaching and Learning Bob Hastings says a local committee of teachers and administrators recommended the $191,000 dollar purchase from Saxon Math which the district has budget for. Board member Alfredo Ramirez expressed two concerns -- one being the cost and the other the time it would take to teach it in relation to other subjects. In the end, Ramirez joined his fellow board members Monday night in approving the purchase on a 6-0 vote.
