Northeast College Board Approves Budget
NORFOLK - The Northeast Community College Board of Governors approved the institution's operating 2010-11 budgets Thursday afternoon at its meeting in Norfolk. Although the total of the four budgets of $76.9 million dollars is down just under $7 million dollars from last year, an increase in the property tax asking is required for two of them -- including $1.7 million dollars in the capital improvement budget. An additional $290,000 dollars in taxes is required for the General Operating Budget -- with the remainder of that budget increase coming from tuition and fees and other sources.
