Norfolkan Charged With Felony Theft
NORFOLK - A Norfolk woman has been charged with embezzlement from a local business for over a 13 year period. Police Captain Leon Chapman says Carol Benson, 65, was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony theft. Benson, office manager of Midwest Plumbing and Heating at 401 West Northwestern Avenue, is accused of taking $84,000 between 1997 and June of this year. The business owner provided financial records to investigators looking into the matter. Benson was initially lodged in the Norfolk City Jail and transferred to the Madison County Jail this morning.
