Norfolk Honors Fall Law Officers
NORFOLK - Norfolk paused Wednesday to honor fallen law enforcement officers. A Peace Officer's Memorial Day observance was held at Prospect Hill cemetery -- at the grave of Nebraska State Patrol Trooper Don Matejka who died of a heart attack in apprehending a suspect in December, 1989. In Nebraska, 131 officers have lost their lives in the line of duty since 1866.
