Norfolk City Council Looks At Reforming BID
NORFOLK - In order to let downtown Norfolk property owners learn more, the City Council has tabled a proposal until June for the reestablishment of Business Improvement District in the area. Members of the Vehicle Parking District are requesting the BID be reformed. City Finance Officer Randy Gates says the BID has been dormant since the late 1990s -- with the Parking District taking over many of its duties as now allowed by law. The Council agreed to give the downtown more time to discuss and explain the BID proposal with property owners in the next month.
