Norfolk Beef Expo
NORFOLK - A 10-year-old girl from Wisner walked away with grand champion honors in the market steer show at Sunday's 61st annual Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce Beef Expo. Jenna Belt's steer weighed 1,266 pounds. She received a trophy from Battle Creek Farmers Pride. 3B Farms of Wisner bid $1,600 dollars for Jenna's steer in the premium auction at the close of the show. The Reserve Champion Steer was shown by Ethan Young. The 12-year-old of Albion received a trophy from Renegade Western Wear and a $600 dollars premium provided by R and B Angus and Show Cattle of Albion. Show Judge Cory Schrag of Marion, South Dakota says "the future of the beef industry in Nebraska is in very good hands."
