No New Taxes

NORFOLK - City of Norfolk staff is being recognized by the City Council for its efforts to find ways that won't include a property tax increase to finance the municipal budget. City Finance Officer Randy Gates told the City Council during a work session late Monday afternoon, using additional sales tax revenues and a dividend from the League Association of Risk Management means an additional $158,000 dollars can be used to help finance the budget and thus, no increase in city taxes. Citizens will still see a property tax increase to finance an LB 840 economic development program voters approved last month.
