New Course For The Elkhorn?
NORFOLK - A change in the course of the Elkhorn River following last week's flooding has people beginning to wonder what the future holds for the waterway. Norfolk Mayor Sue Fuchtman says people are concerned about what impact a change upstream will have on them. There are reports of channel changes in the Elkhorn all the way from O'Neill to Omaha. Officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said Thursday it's common to see bank erosion and minor changes in a river's channel like this during a large flood, but they're not aware of any major changes in the course of the Elkhorn.
