NORFOLK - The new president at Northeast Community College will begin his duties sooner than what had been expected. Michael Chipps recently informed the Northeast Board of Governors and college officials that his first day on campus will be Monday, February 6th. Chipps, the former president and chief executive officer of Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte and McCook, was hired by the Northeast Board on January 6th. He succeeds Bill Path who stepped down to accept a position with Oklahoma State University. Steve Schram and Mary Honke have served in the interim since Path left at the end of October.
