More Truck Traffic In Norfolk
NORFOLK - Madison County officials are hoping the reconstruction of Victory Road just north of Norfolk can be completed sooner than expected. County Commissioner Lee Klein says it's necessary because of increased truck traffic in and out of Nucor Steel, Norfolk Iron and Metal and the Louis Dreyfuss ethanol plant after a railroad bridge used by Nebraska Central Railroad collapsed during last week's flooding of the Elkhorn River southwest of Norfolk. Klein says the County Board is scheduled to take action on a measure Tuesday that would also close Nucor Road just west of Nucor Steel. That means all traffic would be required to enter that area from the east off Highway 35.
