More Heavy Rain Falls Overnight
NORFOLK - Strong thunderstorms passed through Nebraska again overnight. .65 of an inch of rain fell during the 2:00 hour this morning downtown at 106 KIX. The area was under a severe thunderstorm watch through 7:30 before it was canceled. In addition, a flash flood warning was in effect through 7:30 a.m. for Boone and Platte counties following heavy rainfall this morning. Local law enforcement officials reported shortly before 7 a.m. some water was over parts of several roadways across the warned area including Highway 81, Highway 91 and 290th Street south of Platte Center. Heavy rain moved through the area overnight with two-to-three inches estimated by Doppler radar.
