Minor Flooding In Northeast Nebraska

HARTINGTON - Minor flooding was reported this morning across portions of northern Cedar, northern Antelope and Knox counties following heavy rain Wednesday. National Weather Service Doppler radar estimated rainfall amounts of three-to-five inches last night -- with additional amounts of over an inch since midnight. Minor flooding may continue this morning as occasional to moderate rain continues to roll across northeast Nebraska. The heavy rainfall was causing minor flooding in Crofton, Fordyce, Wynot and Hartington, Verdigre, Center, Creighton, Bloomfield and Orchard. Verdigre Creek and other streams in Knox County and northern Antelope County were running high. A flood advisory was allowed to expire at 8 a.m. A flood watch is in effect until 4:00 this afternoon for most of northeast Nebraska.
