Memorial Service For WSC Students

WAYNE - The two people killed last Friday night on a northeast Nebraska highway were students at Wayne State College.  Christopher Oberg, 20, of Mapleton, Iowa, and Alexis Calfee, 19, of Bennet were killed in a crash just west of Emerson. The Dixon County Sheriff's Office reports they were driving west on a motorcycle on Highway 9 when they were hit head on by a car. The Sheriff says the car was possibly driving in the wrong lane of the highway. Oberg and Calfee were second year students at Wayne State and had participated in athletics with the Wayne State track team. A memorial organized by their friends was held Monday night at Wayne State's Memorial Stadium. Wayne State has counselors available to speak with anyone about this incident.
