Lincoln F.D. Assists In River Recovery

NORFOLK - The effort to recover the body of a Norfolk railroad employee who fell into the Elkhorn River west of Norfolk continues this  afternoon .Members of Lincoln Fire and Rescue are assisting Norfolk Fire rescue personnel in recovering the body of Jeff Scholl under the collapsed bridge. Scholl, 38, was part of a Nebraska Central Railroad crew on a railroad bridge west of Norfolk when it collapsed into the swollen river. Two others were rescued. City of Norfolk Public Information Officer Sheila Schukei says Norfolk Fire Chief Shane Weidner indicated this will be the most difficult recovery Norfolk Fire has ever had to make.  Lincoln is sending seven people here to assist.
