Laurel Man Dies in Feed Mill Pit Accident

LAUREL -For the second time this month, residents of Laurel are mourning the death of a young man by electrocution. On August 8th, Scott Charles Haselhorst, 30, was killed while working on an irrigation system near Randolph. Yesterday, Nicholas Waterbury, 28, was electrocuted while working in the pit of a feed mill on a farm northeast of Coleridge. Cedar County Sheriff Larry Koranda says the accident occurred about 2:45 Thursday afternoon. Waterbury was flown to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk where he was pronounced dead. Funeral services for Nicholas Waterbury will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Laurel, with burial in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Laurel. Hasemann Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
