Heat Advisory Issued for Saturday Afternoon
VALLEY - The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for eastern Nebraska from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. today. Temperatures in the lower to mid 90's will combine with high relative humidity levels to produce a heat index of 105 degrees or higher. Residents are urged to stay inside an air conditioned room if possible, drink plenty of liquids and check on neighbors and relatives who may not have air conditioning. Heat also affects pets, and pet owners are urged to provide proper care for their animals.
