Good Time To Plant Trees
NORFOLK - Nebraskans are being encouraged to take advantage of fall's cooler weather by planting trees. ReTree Nebraska Coordinator Jessica Kelling tells 106 KIX NEWS planting trees in the fall allows them to establish their root systems before winter and get ready for spring growth. ReTree Nebraska is a ten-year initiative to promote the proper planting and care of one million trees in Nebraska by 2017. Kelling says so far, nearly 85,000 tree plantings have been reported.
