Funeral Set For Jeff Scholl
NORFOLK - A funeral has been set for Tuesday for a railroad worker who died when floodwaters brought down a bridge over the Elkhorn River. The service for Jeffery Scholl, 38, of Norfolk will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Scholl was among three Nebraska Central Railroad workers checking on the railroad bridge in Norfolk last Tuesday when it collapsed, dumping them into the fast-moving current. Two of the workers were pulled out of the river alive. Scholl's body was found Friday. He is survived by his wife, Suzie, and two young sons. A fund has been established for the family at the Elkhorn Valley Bank.
