Foresters Inventory Norfolk's Trees
NORFOLK - Several foresters are in Norfolk today working with the community's Tree Advisory Board. Nebraska Forest Service District Forester Steve Rasmussen says he and the other foresters will be driving through the city taking an inventory of Norfolk's trees. He says one thing they'll be monitoring closely is the number of Green Ash trees there are in Norfolk. Rasmussen says a concern they have is with a devastating pest -- Emerald Ash Borer -- that's moving across the country. He says it's not here yet, but the expectation is that it will be here one day.
