Flash Flood Watch
NORFOLK - A flash flood watch has been issued for a large part of the area through Saturday morning. Heavy rain is possible again tonight over much of Nebraska and western Iowa as moisture and instability continue to feed into a nearly stationary front in central Nebraska. The National Weather Service reports thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage later tonight -- and with the ground already saturated and many streams and rivers running high, a flash flood watch has been issued. The area is generally along and north of Highway 92 where the heaviest rain has fallen during the past few days. Area counties in the watch include Antelope, Boone, Butler, Burt, Cedar, Colfax, Cuming, Dodge, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Platte Stanton and Thurston counties. Cities include: Albion, Bloomfield, Columbus, David City Hartington, Neligh, Norfolk, Pender, Pierce, Schuyler, Stanton, Wayne and West Point.
