Flags Lowered For Patriot's Day

LINCOLN (AP) - Gov. Dave Heineman is reminding Nebraska residents to lower their American flags to half-staff in observance of the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Heineman's order also directs that flags at all state buildings and facilities be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, being recognized as Patriot Day. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington and Shanksville, Pa.
