Five Suffer Heat Illness at Special Olympics

LINCOLN  (AP) - Five people have suffered heat-related illnesses at the end of the Special Olympics torch run in Lincoln. A spokeswoman for the 2010 games says two members of the torch run's support team were taken to a hospital on Friday afternoon, and three people were treated at the scene. Their conditions were not believed to be severe. The Special Olympics officially open Sunday and run through next Friday. It will feature 13 sporting competitions for nearly 3,000 athletes from 49 states.
