Environmentalists Question Safety of Keystone Pipeline
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A pipeline that carries crude oil from Canada across Nebraska and five other states is being questioned. Environmental groups want regulators to investigate whether TransCanada used faulty steel in its Keystone pipeline, which crosses Northeast Nebraska just east of Norfolk. But the company says all steel used in the 30-inch diameter pipeline exceeds federal specifications.
