Elkhorn River Bridge Closed at Norfolk
NORFOLK - The Elkhorn River bridge on Highway 81 on the south edge of Norfolk has now been closed to all traffic -- both north and south bound. The Norfolk Office of the Nebraska State Patrol reports that water is cresting the bridge. Debris from upstream is heading towards Norfolk, making the problem even worse. Traffic is being rerouted east on Highway 91 at Humphrey, north on Highway 15 to Pilger and west on Highway 275 to Norfolk. Highway 81 is closed to through traffic from Humphrey to the intersection of Omaha Avenue and 13th Street in Norfolk. Southbound traffic is also being stopped at First Street and Monroe Avenue.
