Cowboy Trail Reopens In Norfolk

NORFOLK - A section of the Cowboy Trail just a few hundred yards from the Nebraska Central Railroad bridge has reopened. Lower Elkhorn Natural Resource District Assistant Manager Ken Berney says K. Porter Construction removed several feet of sand from sections of the trail while some concrete repairs have also been made. It's open from the Ta-Ha-Zouka Park trialhead to a little over two miles west  south of the Veynance Technologies plant. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has closed the rest of it west of the there after the trail's bridge over the Elkhorn River collapsed. There's no word as to when that may be considered for repair.
