Corn Roots Will Continue to Grow
COLUMBUS - Platte County Extension Educator Allan Vyhnalek says corn roots will continue to grow, even though the crop is tasseling. Vyhnalek says producers are concerned that the wet growing season has led to shallow roots that will not reach moisture and nitrogen and fail to provide enough support to keep the stalk upright.
