Broken Bridge Collapses On Cowboy Trail
NORFOLK - Nebraska officials say flooding has forced the closure of the Cowboy Trail from Norfolk to O'Neill. Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Acting State Trails Coordinator Duane Westerholt says the Elkhorn River washed out Broken Bridge along the trail three miles west of Norfolk. Several sections of the trail have been washed away. Westerholt tells 106 KIX NEWS there are also approximately 140 smaller, wooden deck bridges on the 72 mile section of trail that will need to be inspected before it can be reopened.
